  1. Mary Collins wasn’t the only one that had the transportation spell. Morgause did, too, when Merlin poisoned Morgana.

    As for the whole Nimueh discussion, you are assuming that Uther really did love Igraine a lot. But he had an affair while she was still alive. Plus often after someone dies and the person left behind feels like it’s their fault, they make the one dying into a saint. (see Henry VIII and Jane Seymour) and talk themselves into thinking they loved that person more than they did. I wouldn’t have put it past Uther to feel guilty that he didn’t love her more and turn his hatred on Nimueh. However, that being said, I don’t think he deliberately chose Igraine to die just so he could have a son. He probably thought he could control the outcome.
    As for Nimueh, I would have loved her living throughout the whole series and even having her and Morgana at odds as a subplot. I loved her as a character and wrote a couple of stories with her as the villain. She was fantastic to write for.
